A former shepherds’ refugee, situated at the famous village of Castro Laboreiro, and located at a high place, where the shepherds used to take their cattle to graze during the summer, and where they would remain until the coldest days would arrive. This pretty house has been totally recovered with thought and careful attention to detail, so as to receive guests and provide all necessary comfort and convenience. It regained all its traditional charm and it is a courteous invitation to experience pure nature and the beautiful surroundings of the Peneda-Gerês National Park.
The sleeping accommodation presents four guests’ rooms (two double and one twin in the main house, and one twin in an adjacent buiding), all with traditional wrought iron beds, and with en suite private bathroom. A traditionally furnished living and dining area with granite stone walls topped by ancestral wood beams, and a delicious fireplace, are served by a fully-equipped kitchenette, making it ideal for sharing families or a group of friends.
A private fully-fledged garden and a covered terrace with an in-built barbecue are a temptation to long ravishing outdoor meals.
Restaurants, cafés, and the local village shop selling all basic items, may be found in the striking village of Castro Laboreiro with its ancient castle, which is only 2 Km away, and where several trails may challenge you to discover the hidden heritage and sites of rare beauty. The Spanish border is also close by, and the ancient towns of Valença, Melgaço and Monção, where a wider variety of shops, cafés, and restaurants may be found are also within easy reach.
